Information We Collect
Soul Arc stores your data — including your name, journal entries, archetype responses, and progress — locally on your device. We do not require account creation or login, and we do not collect your email address.
AI Features (Umbra)
When you talk with Umbra (Speak to Umbra, Deep Dive, or Ask Umbra), your messages, along with relevant snippets from your journal that help Umbra respond to you, are sent through our server to the Anthropic Claude API to generate responses. When a session ends, the chat transcript is sent the same way to generate a short summary. We do not store your messages, journal content, or prompts on our servers. Umbra's responses are held briefly (up to 30 minutes) for technical reliability, then automatically deleted. Anthropic processes this content to provide responses and does not use it to train AI models. Anthropic's data usage policy applies.
Third-Party Services
Soul Arc uses the following third-party services, each operating under their own privacy policies:
Anthropic — provides the Claude AI that powers Umbra. Content you share with Umbra, along with the journal snippets that help Umbra respond, is processed by Anthropic to generate responses and is not used to train AI models. Anthropic Privacy Policy.
Supabase — hosts the server that relays Umbra requests to Anthropic and stores the limited usage records described under Data Storage & Security (a random device identifier and daily usage counts). Supabase Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat — manages subscription state and billing. They receive your Apple ID transaction data necessary to verify purchases. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store — handles all in-app purchases and subscription billing directly.
AppsFlyer — measures how new users discover Soul Arc so we can understand the effectiveness of our marketing. AppsFlyer may collect your device identifier (including Apple's IDFA, only if you grant permission when prompted), app launches, and subscription events. This data is used solely for marketing attribution. AppsFlyer Privacy Policy.
TikTok For Business — AppsFlyer may share aggregated attribution data with TikTok (operated by Bytedance Ltd.) solely to measure the performance of our TikTok ad campaigns. TikTok does not receive your personal journal content or in-app messages. TikTok Privacy Policy.
Advertising Measurement & Tracking
Soul Arc uses AppsFlyer and TikTok For Business to measure which marketing sources introduce new users to the app. When you first open Soul Arc, iOS will ask whether you allow us to track your activity across other apps and websites. This permission controls access to Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", we do not receive the IDFA. Attribution will still occur using Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork framework, which provides only aggregated, anonymized campaign data — no personal identifiers.
You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. We never sell your personal information to any third party — ever.
Data Storage & Security
All app content (your journal, archetype results, and progress) is stored locally on your device. Our servers keep only limited usage records: a random device identifier and daily usage counts, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. These records are not linked to your name or any account. You can delete all local data at any time in Settings via Erase All Data, or by deleting the app. To request deletion of server-side usage records, email help@soularc.app.
